Active Learning
Active learning is “a method of learning in which students are actively or experientially involved in the learning process and where there are different levels of active learning, depending on student involvement.”
Research indicates that active participation in education helps students learn more, as it encourages the brain to store new information.
Activities involving discussions, practice, reviews, problem solving, and group work are all great ways to facilitate active learning. In the Early Learning industry, the term can be interchangeable with play based learning.
